Introducing SGA’s College Elite Players
Season Golf Academy strongly encourages and supports its players to apply for golf scholarships at universities/colleges the United States as an excellent way to develop both as elite players and as individuals. At the moment, four SGA players are enjoying the unique opportunity to study and compete at Division 1 Universities.
Rasmus Karlsson, Junior at The University of South Alabama, studies Management.
Ilari Saulo, Junior at The University of Middle Tennessee, studies Sport Management.
AJ Lintunen, Sophmore at The University of Tennessee Chattanooga, studies Finance.
Dominic Jones, Freshman at The University of Tennessee Chattanooga, studies Business & Management.
The fall season 2018 is now finished. Out of the four SGA players, Rasmus Karlsson has had most success.
He has represented his team in all four events and has a scoring average of 73,6. “My game has felt good this fall. I have been playing decently in practice and qualifications, but have not been able to bring the same feelings to competition. I have had numerous rounds around par on difficult courses, but not enough low rounds, except for my career low of 66. I feel I particularly have to improve my mental game. Putting and short game, with which I struggled before, have improved all the time”, Rasmus tells. South Alabama will start the spring season in February with a home event, Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate.
Dominic Jones played in three out of five events with a stroke average of 76,9.
Ilari Saulo has unfortunately not been playing since August due to a wrist injury. AJ Lintunen represented his team in one event with a score of +10 finishing T62. He has been battling a lower back injury since, and has not been able to compete.
During this winter, our College players will tell our readers more about their life in the US combining university studies and competing at a high level of amateur golf.
