Ilari Saulo competing in Australia

Season Golf Academy’s player Ilari Saulo has spent January practicing and competing in Australia. Ilari studies in USA and he has already competed in two Elite Amateur event  in Australia and still has one to go.

First he played in The Australian Amateur from 15th to 20th of January. The Australian Men’s Amateur Championship is contested over 36-holes stroke play qualifying, with the leading 64 players progressing to elimination match play. The event was played at Woodlands Golf Club and Spring Valley Golf Club, Vic.

Ilari qualified to the match play section after placing T48 in the qualifier with scores of 70,71, (-1).

Unfortunately he lost his first match to Australias Jordan Ayre. This was Ilaris first event after a wrist injury.

Ilaris second event was The NSW Medal & Amateur. The event is played over 36-holes stroke play (NSW Medal), with the leading 32 players progressing to elimination match play (NSW Amateur).  The stroke play was played from the 21st to 22nd of January at Terrey Hills and Mona Vale Golf Clubs.

After rounds of 71,76,+3 Ilari finished T36 and just missed out on the match play. This left him with good time to prepare for his last event in Australia, The Avondale Amateur.

The Avondale Medal is a 72-holes stroke play at Avondale GC in Sydney from the 29th January to 1st of February. Ilari will tee out at 12.45AM on his first round.
